The Nintendo Play Station
In 1991 Sony announced that the consumer electronics giant had partnered with Nintendo to create a CD-ROM device add on for the Super Nintendo System. The very next day Nintendo denied the partnership existed and moved forward with Sony's rival to create a new system.
Sony was not happy and decided it was time to compete with Nintendo and create their own stand alone system. Yet before Sony gave us the Playstation, they built the Nintendo Play Station, and that device disappeared into the vapor.
